Gravitas
2020
Gravitas was inspired by a flat island rising to a hill and falling again. It arrived somewhere more intimate - a body forced to bend - grotesquely, unnaturally. The red is carefully balanced. On the colour spectrum it is a grey in disguise - its green and blue hues in perfect balance, only the red adjusted. The red carries more than it shows - it holds everything. Not background. The force, the weight itself.
