Born intersex in India, lived half my life in Germany. And somewhere along the way, clinically diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
Male? Female? I'm happier as intersex.
Indian? German? I prefer being a Weltmensch.
Normal? Crazy? I would rather be schizophrenic.
I have lived a life beyond categories. That experience is not the backdrop of my art - it is the art. I make art at the intersection of the abstract and the figurative. I use bold black lines on flat fields of colour. The figures are neither resolved nor unfinished, precise yet restless.
My art wants to stop you before you understand why.
My art doesn't explain itself. It offers enough to pull you in - and enough space for you to bring your own story, your own emotion, your own memory. What you find in it is yours.
